Andrew has been such a wanker since after the release of their last single. this just solidifies it, all i've heard is triple j constantly supporting them, recording gigs, giving them awards (hottest 100) and consistent playing of songs off BOTH albums.

I don't want to go quite as far as calling him a wanker, as (1) I'm already in his bad books for stuff I've said before, and (2) I'm sure he has his reasons for lashing out like he did, but I agree that it seems pretty unnecessary to say these things, as there's nothing positive that's going to come out of it unless you believe in the old chestnut "any press is good press", which by the way is total crap! I thought Andrew was into meditation, the world, and all that stuff, so the least I'd expect of him is a positive spin on whatever he's unhappy about, not telling a national radio station to "go fuck themselves". It's just a shame, as I'm finding it very hard to defend him in this situation as a fan.

I understand his reasoning for Triple J lacking loyalty by not playing their songs as soon as they become less relevant, but I don't think this is the best way of handling the situation.

If a band becomes less popular, surely it's within their right to play them less, because that's what the public wants?

Yes, that's correct. I've read other article's comments on this and the majority have said it's really lowered the quality of music they play.

On another note, I'm just curious as to know why you don't believe in the "any press is good press" quote? I'm not saying I disagree I just want to hear your opinion.

Because... I think that if you get press for doing something on which people look negatively, it has the obvious effect of deterring people from buying your product, taking advantage of your service, or, say, listening to your music. I understand the saying, I just don't think in reality it's true.

Ermm I believe the reason was because triple j took the piss of wm crowd as splendour..

@wolfmother: @philjamieson They bagged out our crowd at Splendor, so I shared a few of my thoughts about their station....
    From twitter obv
Seen wolfmother 4 times, went backstage and met them 3 times. 75% success rate. Win.

hahaha this is hilarious. Triple J have completely destroyed stockdale. I don't understand why Andrew would have so much hate in the first place. Triple J is pretty much the only decent station where i live. It's support for up and coming bands is also really awesome.

    jjj started it.

the audience was mostly male because females tend to not have good taste in music.

Let's not start a gender war here. There are plenty of women into hard rock, and I'd rather be at a gig full of them than obnoxious blokes.

So I'll ask again, can someone please put into layman's terms what exactly jjj did to WM's splendour crowd? Preferably without nation specific expressions. They somehow made the crowd only dudes...?
