The Who are quite simply the greatest live band ever
they tried to please to many with the superbowl medley
when they should have just done a couple of songs
they are still on a bad day in the top 5 best live bands around today
on a good day they are untouchable

Agreed... But not anymore! Half of em are gone man

True... but they still have the power to kick arse
after almost 50years on the road, they still play to packed venues
at the age of 65plus Pete still has more energy than 99% of these
so called great live bands of today, and when he does let rip on that guitar
there is nobody around today that can match him

the guys a guitar legend on Accoustic and lead
where some guitarists are only good on one or the other

I'll be looking forward to seeing them at the RAH in a couple of months
the Who take me to places no other band has ever taken me too
so very few bands know how to jam or expand these days
i can only think of 2 bands that can do this, Wolfmother & Reamonn
are the only 2 bands that do spring to my mind

The so called greatest live band of Today ' U2'
can only do studio versions of there stuff on stage
ie, note for note.. no expansion in their live set

How fucking boring is that, paying to go see a live band
that plays the same version as on the record at home.... Yawns!!!!

To few bands around today have a clue what live music should be about
it should ba about expansion, solo's, long riff's, fuck up's and good funny Banter

to few bands have the confidence these days to go on stage
and bash out 20 mins of music without having to bow down to the crowd
and make some 'we love you' bullshit comments
are you having a great time ' Insert town name here'
here is our new single..... and so on

It's good that the Who are still around
because anyone that needs to see what live music is about
actually still have a band to look too, as i think WM have.

I thought Pete's playing was crap during the superbowl because during won't get fooled again he came in a bit too early, and his solos sucked. BUT other than that it was pretty good.
